Last Week: Happy Mother's Day

This time on The Children’s Hour we honor our mothers in a musical special dedicated to Mom featuring shoutouts from some of our favorite Kindie musicians. We even hear from our host, Katie’s mom!  What will you do for your mom this Mother’s Day? We hope you get inspired by our musical special. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, stepmoms, grandmas, and women in our lives who make us feel like we truly belong.

This Week: Keeping Our Cool

Kids have stress too, and on this episode we learn some strategies to keep our cool and manage our anxieties no matter our age. We are guided through a meditation visualization with instructor Michelle Renee Pelletier, and then we reflect on how it felt, and learn the science behind why it works to calm us down. Then we meet a 10 year old who uses mindfulness every day, and we hear a book review of The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse. Keep your cool with us!

Next Week: Water Treatment

This week on The Children’s Hour, we learn about water treatment in a visit to the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility water treatment center. We learn where our tap water comes from, and where it ends up when we flush or wash it down the drain. Water systems are circular, and we end up using the cleaned water for farming and even drinking water. The process is amazing, and even tiny tardigrades play a major role.
